These little faeries look like they’re straight out of a story book. Building a cake is always like writing a story; we have to decide on the setting, the characters, and what the characters are doing. With all these details, we really hope that when they see our little friends on the cake, they imagine them coming to life: watering
We’re not absolutely sure with the accuracy of the zoology of Noah’s ark, but we couldn’t help but do an entire zoo for this cake set. There’s still quite some time before the next season of Game of Thrones, but we’re already excited. One of the things that has made coming to work fun, were days after GoT episodes. Except when one of us had missed the episode, then it would be two huddled in a corner discussing in whispers, pitying the odd one out. Haha

We could watch Studio Ghibli movies all day. We love the landscapes, colors and characters in every film. We would probably never get tired of making Totoro cakes, but we would be thrilled to maybe make a Spirited Away cake. Anyone? Spirited Away? A cake with No Face at the bath house? Summer is slowly creeping in, and while we’re bracing ourselves for a very hot summer, these days its mostly been cloudy and showers. Not that we’re complaining, we’re holding on to the cool February for as long we can. Manila will eventually get really warm and humid, so here’s a cake that eases us in to the fun summer season
Lucia’s picnic set makes me want to pack fruits and cheese in a basket, and take it out to a field of flowers somewhere for lunch (hopefully ant-free on our yummy desserts). We love how all the colours feel cool and easy on the eyes, cool enough for us to feel the same breeze that’s blowing on those sugar kites.
