We’re well into October, and it’s just about time to bring out all those Halloween decoration we’ve been waiting to put up for this year! There is always something so delicate with Flamingo cakes and desserts that right from when we start planning it, we cannot help but focus right away on the little details that make this theme quite special. From choosing the right pinks, to the textures of the chocolate feathers, this theme never fails to brighten up our cake studio!
We’ve mentioned before that we’d never ever get tired of the woodlands theme, and its true. If you ask for a floral woodlands theme, our hearts sing. It also gave us a chance to try out the flowers from Modern Sugar Flowers by Jacqueline Butler, and we would greatly recommend the book! We’ll be needing more practice with our florals,
It’s a Small World was one of our first ever official cake sets. Call us sentimental, but having another one after a while makes you really think about the past couple of years. We’re not absolutely sure with the accuracy of the zoology of Noah’s ark, but we couldn’t help but do an entire zoo for this cake set. We were so serious about picking out the animals we’d use, you’d think we were drafting a sports team. Haha What animal would you like to see on our next Noah’s ark cake?

There’s still quite some time before the next season of Game of Thrones, but we’re already excited. One of the things that has made coming to work fun, were days after GoT episodes. Except when one of us had missed the episode, then it would be two huddled in a corner discussing in whispers, pitying the odd one out. Haha

Lucia’s picnic set makes me want to pack fruits and cheese in a basket, and take it out to a field of flowers somewhere for lunch (hopefully ant-free on our yummy desserts). We love how all the colours feel cool and easy on the eyes, cool enough for us to feel the same breeze that’s blowing on those sugar kites.
